We are a full service needlepoint store and can finish any project you stitch. We finish belts, (stitched and glued), key fobs, pillows (knife edge, boxed, inset and shaped, stockings (usually backed in velveteen and lined in moire), ornaments, stand-ups (nutcrakers, Santas, liquor bottles, etc.), eye glass and scissor cases, coasters, brick door stops, picture frames, hanging signs, bookmarks and purses (leather and fabric backed). We have an upholsterer who can attach seat cushions onto children’s rockers, benches, footstools, dining and arm chairs.
Ornaments can be personalized on the back. Pillows, signs, larger stockings can also be personalized. One of our vendors will customize some of her ornaments to have your pets’ name put on. All stockings ordered through us have the name included in the price of the canvas. Our artist can do a variety of fonts from simple block, block with serifs (see above), whimsical (like the stoving cuff below) and script. We are happy to personalized stockings purchased elsewhere but a fee is charged for this service.
We do not frame needlepoint but recommend two framers in the area: Geary Gallery in Darien and Images in Old Greenwich. Marcos, the owner of Images is a needlepointer and is very good at choosing mattes and frames that suit the piece.
If you have questions about whether we finish a particular item not listed, please call the shop (203) 655-9112.
Don’t stitch or have time to finish that project? We have stitchers who will stitch an entire project or finish an existing piece. This past Summer and Fall we helped many customers complete holiday projects such as ornaments and stockings. Bring your project in now to beat the rush Call or stop in for pricing and timing.
At House of Needlepoint we are always happy to give you help learning the basics and/or new stitches as long as you have purchased your canvas from us. If you have a canvas from another store we will be happy to help assist you with a stitch guide or basic instruction but a small fee will be charged. Please inquire when you stop by. The best days to come in for instruction are Wednesdays and Thursdays between 10AM – 2PM because there are three of us in the shop and there is a better chance one of us will be able to sit down with you.
